Ash founded Native Youth based on his love of beautiful fabrics and the
materials we use are something we are truly proud of and we want to make it as easy as possible for people to learn about sustainable materials and why these are better for our planet. Our pledge to you is to use as many sustainable materials as possible but in some cases, innovation just may not be there yet. If this is ever the case, we ensure we only ever consider lower impact certified fabrics.

ORGANIC COTTON: Grown without the use of toxic pesticides or fertilizers. It also emits up to 46% less greenhouse gases than non-organic cotton. By using organic cotton, we are able to save energy and water which helps to combat climate change. We also love the fact that organic cotton can biodegrade in the same amount of time as an apple core.

TENCEL: The high absorbency of Tencel fibers is what makes our jumpsuits and shirts smoother, cooler, and more hygienic also makes them dye very well. They are typically both more vibrant and less prone to fading over time.

RECYCLED POLYESTER: Recycled polyester is made by breaking down used plastic by melting it and spinning it into polyester yarn. The benefits of recycled polyester are huge. It reduces our reliance on virgin petroleum as a raw material, as well as reducing CO2 emissions and minimising the use of water and energy. By diverting single use plastic away from landfills we are preventing it from ending up in the ocean, harming marine life. Unlike cotton, recycled polyester can be recycled over and over again without losing its quality.

SUSTAINABLE LINEN: We’ve traded in cotton, for a new sustainable material: linen. Naturally grown from flax pants, linen is easy to grow, requires little water, and is biodegradable. Once sourced, it’s durable, resilient, and very long lasting. If it’s sustainable elements aren’t enough, the linen we use is also breathable and moisture-wicking, made to keep you cool through the warmer months and perfect for layering in the cooler ones.
